Šumadija

"Krjalin" blanket is a type of male long-sleeved gown, usually worn over the waistcoat. Sleeves, rolled around the area of the hand, thus emphasising red cloth by which this part of the sleeve was affixed, were considered as a simbol of pride and a special decoration of this gown. Its length was just below the waist and open at the front, so that the whole chest and the embroidery on the shirt were visible. Around the neck, sleeves and down the chest it was ornamented with gold or silk braid (bućma). According to the elders, the waistcoat and krjalin were most often worn with a long shirt and less often with trousers. Krjalin for special occasions was made of the dark blue cloth, but there were also some of them made of dark textile.
